Get to Know Your Teacher: Katrina

Hi! My name is Ms. Katrina Nacar, and I am so glad to be a part of the Juntou International School family!

Although I am fairly new in Taiwan, I have had a decade of teaching experience back in my home country, the Philippines. My experience includes teaching in both the Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary levels. I have also taught adult learners who want to learn English for specific purposes.

Growing up in a Filipino-Chinese household, I have been immersed in a culturally rich and diverse way of life. In particular, being exposed to different languages piqued my interest to learn more about its beauty and power.

As an English Teacher, I believe that learning a new language can open the door to endless possibilities. It opens yourself up to exciting adventures and wonderful experiences; it changes the way you view the world.

My personal mission as a Teacher is to mold students into becoming critical thinkers, competent professionals, creative visionaries, compassionate leaders, committed lifelong learners, and catalysts for change.

Together, let us use the beauty of language to empower people, to bridge gaps, and to promote diversity and inclusion!

All in all, what brings me joy and fulfillment in this profession is seeing my students grow and discover their potential. I am honored to have the privilege of knowing each of my students for exactly who they are. Being a Teacher is truly a blessing!
